Profibus is a high speed (12mbs) industrial control networking standard based on the ISO/OSI layered communications model. PROFIBUS utilizes a polled protocol with extensive error checking, diagnostics and low overhead. PCT implements PROFIBUS communications with both hardware and software product development in OEM equipment and devices. We are a member of the Profibus Trade Organization and have been recognized for innovative designs that maximize the strengths of PROFIBUS to overcome design problems. PCT designed, manufactures and markets two self-configuring PROFIBUS gateways for interfacing redundant I/O and I/O networks to all PROFIBUS DP enabled control systems. The ProfiLink.908 gateway migrates Modicon remote I/O S908 networks to PROFIBUS enabled systems and the PCT GATEWAY 16000 migrates NPS D/3 DCS® 16000 I/O to PROFIBUS enabled systems. Most modern Control Systems and Controllers support PROFIBUS but some require a third party adapter. PCT maintains a list of Systems and Controllers with PROFIBUS DP support.
